We met through a mutual friend eight years ago and fell in love. Fours years later, we had a commitment ceremony with both of our families sharing our happy day. We grew up in the Midwest (and now live in Utah) and share many of the same values -- honesty, open-mindedness, creativity, education and respecting the world for future generations. We have a wonderful life together and long to share our love with a child. We will raise our child to be a confident, independent thinker who knows he/she is loved unconditionally.

We built a comfortable home together in Centerville, Utah which is only 15 minutes from the picturesque, culturally rich city of Salt Lake. Our quaint town is located in the beautiful Wasatch mountain range and offers security, charm and warmth - perfect for raising a family. We can visit one of a dozen different national parks in less than two hours to experience the outdoors with rivers, lakes, mountains and deserts. We designed our home with children in mind; it has large living areas, spacious bedrooms and is colorfully decorated. We long to hear our child's first laughter echo through it. The yard is ready for playhouses and a swing set. Our dogs are also ready to welcome a new playmate.

Maybe you’d like to hear about our annual summer trip to the beach in North Carolina where we meet up with Brooke’s family? Lots of fun-filled days with our nieces and nephew swimming in the warm ocean, building sand castles, flying kites and collecting sea shells. At night we make smores over a campfire, tell scary stories and chase crabs. For the winter holidays, we visit Barb’s family in Nebraska. This is a very loud celebration where the children outnumber the adults. Sledding, ice skating and eating are everyone’s favorite activities. We also have lots of friends in Utah whom we consider family. Many of them have small children who keep asking us when they can start planning our baby’s welcome home party.

We currently work for the same consulting company. Barb enjoys her position as a Manager as it gives her the freedom to make her own schedule, which will be advantageous when she becomes a mom. She is very much a people person and readily accepts all challenges placed before her. Brooke is more analytical, putting her skills to work negotiating contracts. Although we enjoy our careers, the most important thing to us is to have plenty of time and flexible work schedules that allow us an abundance of quality time with our child. Brooke currently works from home, but plans to be a full-time stay-at-home mom when our child arrives.
