Barbara and Warren Thumm

We are Barbara and Warren Thumm from College Point, New York. We appreciate you taking the time to read our website and truly respect you for considering open adoption. We have been happily married for 12 years and cannot wait to become parents! We have a wonderful relationship based on love, laughter, and honesty. We are truly each other's best friend!

Barbara works part time as an office services clerk and is looking forward to becoming a stay at home mom! She can't wait to become our child's room mom and to help with homework. Warren works for the City of New York in the sanitation department. He has a very flexible schedule and is looking forward to coaching our child's t-ball or soccer team.

We love to be outside, whether it is taking walks in and around our neighborhood, being active in our community, visiting local parks, or spending time with family and friends for a party or BBQ. Traveling to visit family and site see is another activity we love. Our favorite places to visit are the Long Island Shore, upstate New York, New England, New Jersey Pennsylvania and Virginia. We look forward to building sand castles at the beach with our child and hearing him or her giggle as the waves splash his or her toes. We also enjoy watching movies and can't wait to snuggle on the sofa with our child and a big bowl of popcorn to watch "Toy Story."

Our cozy home is located in College Point, New York. College Point is a diverse and friendly neighborhood with lots of kids. Our child will have many playmates and friends close by. We are also close to two beautiful parks and can't wait to hear our child's laughter as he or she climbs the jungle gym with his or her friends. There are so many interesting places within walking distance of our home and within New York City to visit, especially during the holidays. We are looking forward to seeing our child's eyes light up when he or she sees the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and the Christmas Show at Radio City Music Hall for the first time!

We are close to our families and see them often. They all live very close and look forward to sharing birthdays, holidays, anniversaries and family dinners with our child. Barbara's parents can't wait to become first time grandparents! Grandma loves to read and is looking forward to reading and cuddling with her grandchild. Our family is very supportive of our decision to adopt and can't wait to welcome our newest addition to our loving family!

We are a team in our marriage and will be a team as parents. We believe in the importance of loving our child unconditionally and will always be there for our child. We will teach our child strong family values, respect, self-confidence, and self-esteem. We will encourage our child to follow their dreams and will always support them. Our child will always know that they are loved, cherished and adored!
