Our Promise To You
Adoption is not new to us. Marisa was first introduced to open adoption when she was a teenager and a close friend chose to place her daughter in an open adoption. To this day she remembers her friend's courage and selfless love. We’ve always known that open adoption is right for us. We are totally dedicated to providing a loving home to our child, a home filled with laughter and happiness.
We promise that you'll always have an important place in our heart, and we welcome a lifelong relationship. Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about us. We would love to learn about you too, so please contact us anytime!
Our Home and Community
We live in San Ramon, California, nestled in the east San Francisco Bay Area. There are many great parks and trails within a short walk from our home and our neighborhood is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills that are perfect for family strolls and picnics. We can picture snuggling up with our little one in front of our fireplace during colder nights and enjoying freshly-baked homemade cookies. In the summertime there are sure to be plenty of family fun days at the community pool with all of us splashing and laughing together.
Our friendly neighbors include lots of families with young children. You can see kids riding on tricycles, playing soccer, or just chasing each other around. We know our child will have a blast joining in these activities. Our group of neighbors will often set up tents and games for all the kids to enjoy and our neighborhood is always filled with a lot of laughter.
Our Family and Friends
When we first told our friends and families about our plans to adopt, we were blown away by their genuine excitement and enthusiasm. Our child will be so incredibly lucky to have so many people to love him or her. Imran's sister, her husband, and our wonderful nephews live right next-door and Imran's mom lives with us - a built-in grandma! We see our nephews all the time and they can't wait to play with their new cousin. Also, Marisa’s parents live only a few miles down the road and remind us all the time just how eager they are to become grandparents through open adoption. It’s easy to imagine our family surrounding our child with love at backyard barbecues, movie nights, birthday parties, holidays, and any time we’re together.
Our first date was at an Ethiopian restaurant and we knew we had a special connection right away. After just a few dates, we had fallen in love, and have been inseparable ever since. After a couple years of dating, we were married on a bright summer morning in Berkeley. We have a strong relationship built ontrust, shared values, and a deep respect for each other. We also have a lot of fun! You can often find the two of us singing out of tune to our favorite songs and making up the lyrics as we go along. We make each other laugh and are both so happy to be married to our best friend. We can’t wait to be parents and share our love and happiness with a child!
Traveling is our biggest passion, and we’ve gone on adventures through many parts of the world together. Over the years, we've gone swimming with monk seals in Hawaii, explored the jungles of Costa Rica, wandered through the narrow streets of Venice, and rode on top of a train through the countryside in Ecuador. We have many dreams for continued journeys and are looking forward to introducing our little one to the joys of travel.

Imran is an amazing person and I feel very lucky to have him in my life. He is thoughtful, loving, and fun to be around, and he treats me with the utmost care and respect. When I see him play with, comfort, and read to our nephews, I can imagine him showing the same love and tenderness to our child.
Imran teaches at an elementary school and looks forward to going to his class each day.
