Hello! We are Rob and Carrie Bedwell from Hobart, Indiana. We believe that adoption is a selfless act of love and are excited that our child will know the love of two families. We welcome you and members of your family to become a part of our lives in a way that you feel comfortable and invite you to share in your child’s milestones. We are excited to share this journey with you and look forward to getting to know you and learning of your dreams as well. Together, we will create a wonderful adoption plan!
As teachers, we have gained much experience working as a team through teaching, coaching, and other school activities. We feel that this sets us a part from other prospective adoptive parents. Over the years, we have been known as "Coach" and "Momma Beddy" to our students. The relationships, many that continue to exist long after graduation, that we have built with students and their parents have been a blessing to us. We look forward to having a family of our own, and dedicating our time, energy, and resources into creating the best life possible for the most awesome and selfless gift that will be bestowed upon us by you, our wonderful angel!

We all have a story to tell...
You don't have to be powerful, famous, or wealthy to be extraordinary. Each of us is important and valuable. We all have a story to tell. Stories of successes, struggles, experiences that have challenged us and helped us to become stronger. Notable stories of selfless deeds that have positively impacted the lives of others.
One of our favorite children's stories is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, which showcases a relationship between a boy and a tree. The tree lovingly provides what the boy needs: shade, branches to swing, and apples to eat, and, eventually, in an ultimate sacrifice, wood for a boat so that the boy can begin his life's journey. We know that birthparents are very much like this tree in that they want the very best for their child and will go to great lengths to ensure their child is afforded the life they hope and dream for them.
By sharing our stories, we begin to see how they overlap into one another and that, by some miracle or blessing, our lives are meant to be connected. Like the relationship between the boy and the tree, we know that we serve a purpose in each other's worlds.
The truth of our story is that we have pretty great lives. We have the love of our family and friends, careers, as teachers, that excite and inspire us, the adoration of three lovable dogs, a beautiful home to shelter us, and cottage where we can relax and enjoy the company of family and friends.
There is only one thing missing. A child. You see, our hearts are full and overflowing with love for this child that we have yet to meet. We eagerly await his or her arrival and the moment we will be introduced to our birthparents, the angels, like the tree, who will help complete our story through their selfless act of love.
Ultimately, our lives, our stories, are meant to come together, to have a similar ending. It's the one where we all live happily ever after and of the luckiest child in the world who will be loved by two families.
Is this how you imagine your or your child's story?
All you need is love...
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while
loving someone deeply gives you courage.
Your love for your child has given you the courage to consider open adoption. The love we have in our hearts for a child and our desire to parent has led us to seek an open adoption. We can't wait to build a relationship with you based on trust, understanding, and openness.
We have been blessed on this journey with the love and support of our family and friends. They have stood behind us every step of the way, and for that we are grateful! We can't wait to share with our child and you all of the wonderful deeds they have done to help make our dream of having a child of our own a reality!
We are fortunate to have many people in our lives who were adopted or have expanded their families through adoption who have been here to give us guidance and support and can't wait to provide the same to our child.
In the end, all you need is love. And there is plenty to go around!
We promise to love our child unconditionally as we support and nurture their development and interests while guiding them to pursue their dreams. We can't wait to become parents and look forward to helping our child become a caring, well-adjusted, responsible, and happy individual. We welcome you to become a part of our family as we help our child understand how he or she became a special part of our lives.
