Myron and Ann Harrington

We treasure each and every day that we spend together. We met on a blind date nine years ago and have been married for almost seven wonderful years. We are each other's best friends and love going through life together as a team. We never let a day go by without saying, "I love you!" to each other.

We are a caring and devoted couple who believe we were meant to become parents through open adoption. There is so much that we want to give a child, but the most important thing we have to give is our love!

Our goal as parents is to encourage our child’s interests, learning, and gifts. We want to give our child every opportunity possible to succeed in school and in life. What matters most to us is that our child is happy and knows how much he or she is loved.

We enjoy going to parks, concerts, plays, movies, restaurants, book stores, and ball games together. We like to play putt-putt and go bowling. We love traveling as a family and treasure the time we spend at the beach and in New York each summer. When we are home, we enjoy listening to music, reading, watching movies and sports, walking around our neighborhood with our sweet dog (his name is Poonkie), hiking around the Eno River, and just spending time together. There are so many wonderful things to see and do in this world that we would love to share with a child!

Myron is a project manager and Ann is an elementary school teacher. We enjoy our careers, but parenthood is our priority! We will both be able to give our child the time, attention, and energy he or she deserves. Our child will always come first and we can't wait to dedicate our lives to raising a child. Ann always has the summer months off from work, and we both plan to take time off from work after we become parents. We are fortunate to have flexible work schedules so that we can put our child's needs above all else.

Our child will be welcomed into our family with open arms and lots of love. Most of our family and friends already have children, and they all say we will be great parents! Our family is so excited about our becoming parents through adoption.

We believe that everything happens for a reason and that adopting a child will be the greatest blessing and gift we will ever receive. We love one another deeply and hope to share that love with a child and with you.
