About Shawn (by Joe)

Shawn means the world to me and makes me a better person. I'm so thankful to have him in my life. He is fun to be around and I love to laugh with him...or at him! He cares greatly for other people and especially loves working with kids each day. I admire his many talents whether it be refinishing our home or teaching Irish dance. Shawn's two young siblings adore their big brother and I know he will make a wonderful dad.

About Us

Hello, and thanks for visiting our page. We're Joe and Shawn from Denver, Colorado. We respect that you are considering adoption for your baby and hope we can be there for you. Life as a couple over the past nine years has been good to us. We're lucky to live in a large, diverse city with plenty to do and are also very close to the Rocky Mountains. We have fun going to concerts, camping, and attending Denver's many outdoor cultural events. Our jobs as teachers allow us to spend our breaks from school together. Having visited many foreign countries, we look forward to sharing such travel experiences with our child. We can't wait to become parents to have this time as a family. We will do everything we possibly can to make sure that the baby we adopt has many opportunities and a great life. Family and Friends

We are fortunate to have large and supportive families living in the Denver area. Our son or daughter will be welcomed by many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who couldn't be more excited for us to be parents. Our friends are also a huge part of our lives and many of them have recently had children. We have a great time together hanging out at BBQs, skiing in the mountains, and going to concerts in City Park. Our moms are eager to spoil their grandchild and there are many playmates ready to romp!

Home and Community

We have owned our house for seven years during which time we have made many improvements and additions. Our historic neighborhood in Denver, Colorado is a perfect place to raise a child. We are located only eight blocks from an incredible park and twenty minutes from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver was rated one of "America's 10 Best Places to Grow Up" by US News and World Report and we agree! With 300 days of sunshine a year, we will have a great time with our little one exploring the outdoors and riding bikes as a family. Bringing a baby into our cozy home would be such an amazing gift.

Our Careers

Both of us are well established in our careers as public school teachers. Shawn teaches reading and writing as an elementary school teacher and teaches Irish dance on the side. Joe is a high school math teacher and works with a program to help first generation students get into college. Between the two of us, we have worked with kids of every age from kindergarten through 12th grade which will help us be prepared as our baby grows up. Teaching is a great profession for both of us because it is very rewarding and we love to be with kids. We value education greatly and have both completed our Master’s degrees in Education.

About Joe (by Shawn)

Joe is my best friend and I love life with him. I never thought I'd end up with a brainy math teacher, but he is totally a kid at heart. He makes everyone laugh and a child would have so much fun with a dad like him. He's the cook of the house and makes great food, much of which he grows in our garden. I'm looking forward to seeing him share his love for music with our baby, singing and playing the piano.
