Scott and Holly McDonald

We are Scott and Holly from West Lafayette, Indiana. Thank you for allowing us a moment to introduce ourselves and for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. Considering adoption takes great courage, abundant love for your child, and an incredible trust in us. We chose open adoption so that we could have the possibility of an ongoing relationship with you, based on your comfort level. While this web site provides only a small glimpse into our lives, we hope it helps you discover the loving, devoted family you and your child would be welcomed into. We look forward to hearing from you!

Telling people you met on the Internet may be common now, but that wasn’t so in 1997. After talking with each other for a few months online, we felt a definite connection. We married 4 years later in Peoria, Illinois, and have been best friends ever since. We keep our relationship solid through compromise, lots of laughter, and by focusing on our strengths.
Scott is a Supervisor in Engineering at a local manufacturer and loves the challenge and variety of his work. Holly works part time as a Data Desk Assistant for the local newspaper and enjoys volunteering in the community. Once a child comes into our lives, Holly will live out her dream of being a stay-at-home mom.

Our favorite activity is an annual vacation, including trips to the beach, amusement park, and cruises. We both enjoyed family vacations as children and look forward to building memories with our child through the adventures we take each year.
Holly enjoys taking the pictures from our lives, family events, and trips and turning them into scrapbooks that can be cherished forever. After creating first year albums for our niece and nephew, she is excited about sharing our child’s special adoption story through scrapbooks.
Scott enjoys working on projects around the house, taking pride in finding creative ways to accomplish them. He is definitely up for the challenge of fixing any toy that our child breaks! During the fall, Scott enjoys watching football. He looks forward to taking our child to local games, making sure to teach them about important food groups like hot dogs and nachos!

Barely a day goes by without hearing the laughter and excitement of children playing outside in our safe cul-de-sac.  We have a fantastic play set in our backyard waiting for our child to discover it.  Picnics on our deck are a regular routine and we are looking forward to adding a child sized picnic table to the fun!  We’re also excited to walk our child to the nearby library for story hour and to pick out their new favorite bedtime story.

Strong relationships with family are very important to both of us. We chose our Midwestern home as it places us within a couple hours of all our close relatives, a group eagerly looking forward to meeting you and our first child. Large gatherings at holidays and birthdays are quite common, and our child will always have the adventure of abundant cousins to play with! Our parents await the opportunity to babysit (and spoil!) their newest grandchild, including visits to zoos, parks, and museums. With so many opportunities to gather with family, love for our child will be overflowing! We also share our home with our playful Golden Retriever, Casey, and sweet rescued Yellow Lab, Peaches. Our niece and nephews have kid tested both dogs and we’ve found they hold up quite well after a few tail grabs and ‘pony rides’!
