About Jim

Jim is truly the best person I know. He is great at finding joy in everyday events, and has a
wonderful generous nature. Jim loves children.
He has a very natural empathy towards people, and knows how to focus on important things while not ‘sweating the small stuff.’ He has a great sense of humor. He loves his family and friends and would do anything for them. I very much admire him for his ethics.

About us

We are James and Raymond from Cheltenham, Pennsylvania. We are a loving couple whose faith directs our lives. We are happiest when sharing the gifts God has given us. We would love to adopt and have the opportunity to give a loving home to a child. We eagerly anticipate sharing all of our strengths and joys with our child.

We met fifteen years ago and we bought our house eleven years ago. We were joined religiously in 2003, a wonderful service at a Presbyterian church, and we were married legally in Toronto in April, 2006. The strong points in our marriage are ethics, honesty, and love. We feel that the world is filled with beauty and that sometimes it's the little things that count the most. Family is most important and we strive for an open and honest family life filled with joy and mutual respect.

Our Careers

Jim is a Project Manager for a large financial firm based in Philadelphia and has worked in payroll for more than fifteen years. Jim will be able to work from home a couple of days a week.

Ray is a gifted artist and musician; he is a singer, conductor, composer and teacher—he wrote outstanding music for our wedding. Ray can do most of his work at home, and has substantial flexibility in his work schedule. We feel very fortunate that one of us will be able to be home for our child.

Our Family

Both of us love the holidays, especially Christmas. We’re an active family who loves to spend time together, whether playing outside or quiet evenings at home. We enjoy close relationships with extended family and with a tight community of friends. We have a lot of friends from all walks of life: gay and straight friends, singles, couples, and families. Our parents are looking forward to the arrival of their grandchild—playing in the park and planting flowers.
We want to encourage our child to develop meaningful friendships. We want to teach respect for the abilities and values of others, while giving encouragement to strive to achieve the best of what they are capable. We want to teach our child the importance of holding on to family traditions, and that material things can never replace the most important things in life: faith, self-dignity and respect for others.

Our Home

We love our house, built in the 1950s, with a front porch and fireplace. And we love our backyard—lots of trees and green space. We can just imagine playing catch in the yard with our child, or playing in the sandbox. We enjoy gardening and working in the yard, and we both love to cook. Our neighborhood is a great area, with excellent schools and parks. We love to entertain, and like nothing more than to get friends and family together with their children for parties. We have fun with children’s games, like breaking a piñata for Cinco de Mayo, or splashing on a waterslide.

About Ray

My husband has a wonderful personality. At times he is childlike, full of curiosity and at times he would have the appearance of a Rhodes Scholar. He is very kind and caring for things that are important to him. He has amazing talents—I enjoy learning from him music, art and history. Ray has a close bond with his niece in Ohio who hopes to follow in his footsteps in attaining a college degree. Ray can’t wait to teach our child songs and piano.
