Mark and Amy Parris
Amy About Mark
Mark is the most caring, nurturing, and loyal person I know. He is my best friend and soul mate! When I think about him helping our child with math home work at the kitchen table, making pizza for movie night or throwing the Frisbee in the yard, I know he will be a great dad! With our niece and nephews, he enthusiastically joins in playing Wii or jumping on the trampoline.
Mark is excited about exploring the nature museum with our child, and he is eager to rediscover the world through a child’s eyes. His love to figure “how things work” is another gift he will share with our child.

We met in 2005 and wed in 2006. We felt a connection from the first time we met and our love has only gotten stronger! Our friends comment that we act like newlyweds because we are always holding hands! Laughter is a part of our daily lives, as Mark is always keeping Amy laughing and will most definitely have our child giggling all of the time.
Mark enjoys his work as an engineer designing computer graphic chips. His work schedule is flexible allowing him to be part of the day-to-day activities. Amy manages a healthcare web application. She will be a stay-at-home Mom when we welcome a child into our home. She can’t wait to go to reading time at the library with our child and take our child on play dates with friends’ children.
We promise that your child will be safe, loved and nurtured. We have many dreams for our child, but mostly we want to provide opportunities, guidance, and our love for whatever path she or he chooses. This child is a blessing and we want you to feel good about the awesome gift you have given us.
We can’t wait to welcome our child into our home. We live just a few hours away from both the beach and the mountains. Our home is in a quiet, small family neighborhood and is at the end of a cul-de-sac near excellent schools. We look forward to family movie nights and playing with our child in our large fenced backyard.
One of the best parts of our neighborhood is the holiday events. We can’t wait to watch our little one search for eggs at the Easter egg hunt or dress up for the Halloween costume contest.
When the weather is nice, a state park just down the street will be a great place to load our child into a baby backpack and take a walk to see squirrels, birds, and the occasional deer.
We share our home with our two cats, Jazz and Jett. Both cats like to play with our niece and nephews when they visit. They love getting attention from children.
We both feel very fortunate to have wonderful families that we enjoy spending time with. They are all very excited about another child joining the family.
Niece Caity and nephew Charlie can’t wait to build sand castles with their newest cousin on family beach trips. Nephew Luke is looking forward to teaching his newest cousin how to catch fireflies. Both grandmas are ready to baby-sit their new grandchild while both grandpas are excited about adding another player to family golf outings.
Our friends are very excited about us adopting a child and several have volunteered to help set up the nursery!
We enjoy being active and exploring the world together. Whether it’s short trips to visit family, vacations to the beach or mountains, or bigger trips to Disney World, we know travel will continue to be part of our life as a family.
Whenever we’re traveling, Mark also gets to enjoy another hobby, photography. He will be making sure we have lots of pictures of our child to share with everyone. We both enjoy sports and look forward to family trips to minor league baseball games or cheering at our child’s games.
Amy enjoys playing soccer and loves to bake tasty treats. She anticipates the day when our child will be helping her bake daddy cookies or in the garden planting flowers and watching the butterflies.
We are so excited about sharing all of our interests and discovering more when we welcome a child into our home.
Mark About Amy
Amy is the love of my life. I know she is going to be a great mom! When I watch her with our nieces and nephews I imagine how wonderful she will be with our child. She’s a confidant for our niece Caity, a playmate for nephew Luke, and a reassuring presence for nephew Charlie as he learns to swim. She has saved children’s books since her own childhood for the day she could read bed-time stories to our child!
Amy enthusiastically throws herself into whatever she does. She will bring all of that energy as a mom, whether it’s finger painting and coloring or after school activities.
