I love my husband Jim! He is caring and compassionate and one of the most generous people I know. He is thoughtful in so many ways and is truly my best friend. I can't imagine my life without him. Jim loves his job as a prison chaplain. He has a flexible schedule and has saved up several weeks of vacation time for when our little one arrives!

Jim will be an awesome dad. He is a big kid and always ready to jump in and play! I can picture him giving endless “horsey” rides to our child. It melts my heart to see him snuggled up with our nieces to read or chasing our friend's toddlers around the park. He is creative and artistic and will have so much to pass on to our child. I can’t wait to see him side by side with our little one creating masterpieces for our fridge!

Hello! We are Jim and Amy from the beautiful town of Terre Haute, Indiana. Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We admire your love and courage in considering an open adoption plan for you and your baby. Adoption has touched our lives through both friends and family. We promise that our home will be filled with love and laughter and that you will always have a place in our hearts and family. We would love to talk with you about your hopes and dreams for the future.

Our Story:
Our love story begins with music. We became friends while singing duets together. We started spending time together doing all sorts of activities from running at the beach to playing games of mini-golf. Our friendship grew and it was soon clear that we were head over heels in love! We were married the following December and have enjoyed spending over fifteen years together.
It's funny, the first duet we sang was a song called "More Than Wonderful." And we can honestly say that our life together has been just that. We are best friends and love each other very much. We can't wait to share our love with our child!

Our Home:
We recently moved to Terre Haute, Indiana and we couldn’t be happier! We are much closer to friends and family look forward to our little one spending time playing whiffle ball with cousins, aunts and uncles. Our house has a huge back yard and we envision countless hours of fun catching fireflies, roasting marshmallows and playing in the pool.
Terre Haute is a family friendly town and there are lots of things to do! We look forward to exploring the new Children’s Museum and the many beautiful parks downtown. We can already picture how fun it will be to take our little one to visit the Indianapolis Zoo and Shedds Aquarium in Chicago!

Faith and Family Time:
We both became Christians at an early age. Our faith is about a relationship, not a set of rules. Our faith helps us to be a part of something greater than ourselves. We look forward volunteering at soup kitchens with our little one and to reading Bible stories together as a family.
Family is extremely important to both of us. We set aside time from our busy schedules just to be together. We feel it is important for families to have time to just relax and play together. We want to give our child lots of great opportunities, while always making sure there is time to just be a kid!

Our Friends and Family:
Our friends and family are the best! They are excited about us adopting and ready to welcome our child with open arms. We only live a few hours away, and we get together as often as we can. We enjoy playing board games, baking cookies and taking fun trips to the beach. We can already imagine helping our little one skip rocks across the water and build sand castles. We love to spoil our nieces and nephews, who are excited to have another cousin to play with! We would also like to introduce our cat, Melody. She is a ball of energy and we know she will love playing ribbons with our little one

Our Promise to You:
As parents we will cherish each moment whether drying tears or sharing laughter. We promise to encourage our children to be proud of their heritage and to reach for their dreams. We will love our children wholeheartedly and will always remember what a precious gift they are to us.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. We will always be grateful to you and you will always have a special place in our hearts and family. We are committed to building a relationship with you and staying connected at a level with which you are comfortable. We look forward to hearing from you and continuing our adoption journey together.

All Our Best,

Jim and Amy

Amy is the most gracious and caring person I have ever met. I love her so much! She is a former teacher with nine years of experience. She currently volunteers with children at our church. She can't wait to be a stay at home mom! She is looking forward to spending time with our child reading picture books and playing hide and seek.
Amy will be a wonderful mom! Kids love her. Our friends’ kids beg to come over to our house to build blanket forts in the living room. She has many talents including baking, sewing, writing, and music. I know she can’t wait to bake homemade chocolate chip cookies with our little one!
