Fabio Soto and Troy LaBounty
Fabio grew up in Colombia and moved to the United States over 20 years ago. As a Colombian, Fabio brings a special culture and background to our family! He loves this country very much, and was proud to become a U.S. citizen in 2007. Troy grew up in Iowa, and as a child spent many of his weekends helping with chores on his grandmother’s farm. Troy moved to New York for college, where he met Fabio. We’ve been together for 13 years, and were recently married, with our families there to celebrate!

Our Promise to You
We will build a family based on love, trust, and respect. Our child will always know about the love and courage it took for you to make your decision. You will always be a welcome part of our family.
Our families are thrilled about our adoption plans, and our parents can’t wait for another grandchild to spoil! Troy’s brother and sister are married with their own families, and Troy has 7 nieces and nephews eager to play with a new cousin! Even better, our child will have cousins around the same age to grow up with. Fabio’s family lives in both Colombia and the United States, and he has more nieces, nephews, and cousins than we can count. Between our two families, our child will have no shortage of playmates!
Interests & Hobbies
We love to travel and anything to do with the outdoors, from roughing it on camping and backpacking trips, to biking on local trails, and visiting other countries. Fabio loves to cook, and makes delicious Colombian and American food. We can’t wait to take our baby for a hike in a baby backpack, teach our child how to ride a bike, plant a flower in our yard, bake cookies with Fabio, or take our child to Colombia to visit the family!
Home & Community
We live in a suburb of Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan, which is where Troy works. We have a great yard with plenty of space for our child to play, and live in a newer neighborhood full of families with children. And we’re also close to family, so our child will have lots of cousins to play with! We’re a short walk to several parks, and our town has excellent schools. We’re excited to take our child to the zoo, museums, Michigan football games, and camping!
Fabio worked in retail, and was the assistant store manager at a large retail store. He left his job when we moved, and is ready to be a STAY-AT-HOME DAD. Fabio can’t wait to take our child to the beach or park, or just for a walk! Troy was a musician before going to medical school, and he is now a physician at the University of Michigan hospital, where he loves to teach and care for patients. Although Troy works hard, he will make sure to save time for our family, and will always be there for our child’s baseball or softball games, soccer matches, plays, and concerts!
